Inspiration in White: Memorable Gallery Walls

We have all seen, and probably have one in our homes, pretty gallery walls. There are so many ways to make a gallery wall and there are some interesting ideas on Pinterest of how to install them and what shape they should take....but to do this in a modern way you really need to take a new approach.

I think the most memorable ones I see these days are a mix of frames, mirrors and unique items that create a story. What I love about some of these ideas is that the furniture or accessories that are below or around the gallery wall are integrated into the overall story. You can go very far with your wall if you take this approach and create something that has major impact in the room and shows off your style and personality as well. Blue and White Obsession

I have a few pieces of blue and white porcelain in my home and I really love it. I think it goes with every decor and fits into a neutral colour scheme perfectly. This is the home and personal collection of Furlow Gatewood, who is a been an influential member of the design community for many years. These photos that House Beautiful featured are from the book One Man's Folly (by Julia Reed and published by Rizzoli) and feature much of his amazing collection of blue and white porcelain. Now this is a collection! I love the blue and white stool in the first photo and the stunning ginger jars in all shapes and sizes. Plates, candleholder and vases fill out the rest of the collection, all set in the most beautiful home.

Wonderful Walls

This house has great walls...well..and furniture and just about everything. What I really love is the grey colour on the walls mixed with the white trim (gorgeous!) and the colour of the kitchen is amazing as well. Then there are the beautiful wallpapers, grey in the bedroom (another one of those beds I posted about here!) and bright green in the dining room...there is so much texture in this house..love the double sided fireplace with the stove as well.
