Such great rustic spaces in black, white and wood. It's the contrast of the wood or brown that I really love….I mean who said brown and black don't look good together. There is such a fun bohemian touch to these images especially the first one with the fringe and tie dye bedcover. The great piece at the back of the bed is such a perfect replacement for a headboard and completes the rustic room.

This is such a great house in white, black and toffee....one of my favourite colour combinations. I love the kitchen that is right off the family room. It features a gorgeous toffee coloured sofa in leather as the main focus in the room. Each piece of furniture looks amazing against an all white backdrop. This 90 year old house In Sweden was left on the market for a long time until one brave couple saw its potential. One year and many layers of wallpaper later they had completed the renovation and to wonderful effect. Thoughtfully done keeping some of the old and adding new where necessary. Simple and stunning...
Well it has been a crazy busy week as I went to New York to pick up my daughter from school. She is here in Montreal for the summer and I love having her back home! We have lots of projects in the works and I look forward to showing you soon.

Love seeing blue and white... in a home, in clothing, on dishes...anywhere really and these are some great examples of all of these. What is really great is the wonderful texture and depth of these prints in white and blue...so beautiful!

Another round of comparing home and food styling trends. I really love how the trend of wood in the home has found its way into food accessories such as salad utensils and cheeseboards. This natural look mixed with heavier handmade ceramics is one I love naturally and fits so well with the rustic styling in so many of the homes.
Such a sweet studio space that features the living room in one corner and the bedroom in the opposite corner. A separate kitchen and eating area divide up the space nicely and the big windows in both rooms are so tall and bring in great light making it feel much larger. I love the mouldings in these old Swedish apartments. Lovely....

Summer is around the corner...ok spring just started but I am hopeful....and nothing says summer like linen. I love linen and have it all over my house and in my wardrobe. It's this time of year I change my heavy down comforter to a light linen blanket and pull out the linen pants and jackets. The more wrinkled the better in my books!

This month Vogue Living features this amazing Manhattan apartment. I am not always a fan of lots of bright colours but the way this apartment comes together is so well done. A great mix of modern, classic and rustic that makes this feel new and approachable....and really. How can you not love a place that has a vintage disco ball in the bathroom!
