Bright White Apartment

The Swedish real estate site Stadshem just keeps getting better and better at featuring theses amazing homes for sale. The styling of the various apartments, often very small such as the one I showed last month and this one here, is so good! They really know how to make it look so appealing and are super inspiration for anyone trying to add some accessories to change up the home. They always use really cool lamps and wonderful throws to dress up the space. I love the three different tables grouped together in front of the couch. Very clever.

Pins of the Week: Christmas

My first Christmas post of the year with a few ideas for decorating the mantle and the tree. No I have not put up my tree yet and actually I have not done much thinking about it beyond these few pictures. I realized I had better get at it when I passed through Target the other day to pick up a couple of things and saw that the Christmas lights that I liked were out of stock! Now I am on the move to get ideas and I love what I see here. Isn't that a lovely simple table for Christmas. So Scandinavian in feeling...actually all the photos have a rather similar simple yet cozy feeling to them....check out my Christmas pins here on Pinterest.

Modern Greenwich Village Home

This is the Greenwich Village home of designing Ariel Ashe featured in Domino Magazine. Such a pretty modern home but with many of the original architectural elements that give it a bit of the old world feel. Nice pops of red here and there against a great black and white base. Love the gallery wall and the way she has done the curtains in the living room emphasising the high ceilings.

Hope you are having a lovely week!!

Apartment with a Feminine Touch

So busy this week getting our studio ready for our Holiday sale! Making ceramics right up to the last minute so not much time to post or do much of anything else for that matter. If you live in the Montreal area please pass by to say hello. Check our studio Facebook page for the address... the link is at the end of the post.

I found this pretty small apartment on Fantastic Frank. It has a lovely feminine touch to it don't you think...

Industrial Style Home

This is the LA home of the restaurateur Joan McNamara. Really so fabulous and chic...love the black kitchen, vintage, rustic touches throughout and the fabulous industrial space. I could easily live in a loft like this no problem!

Pins of the Week: Black and Gold

I am so into black kitchens, bathrooms and just about everything else including pottery. Not sure how someone that loves white so much could suddenly be so intrigued by all the dark decor out there but I am! I also love black when it is paired with white and when it is paired with gold. A touch of luxury to be sure.

For those of you in the US I hope you are all having a lovely holiday weekend and did not spend too much in the stores today!!

Nordic Inspiration

If you read my blog on a regular basis you know how much I love Nordic influence in design. The clean lines, simple styling and of course the use of white in Nordic decor inspires me enormously. Well imagine when I opened my Est Magazine this month to see none other than the The Nordic Issue.....love, love, love. Here are a few photos from the issue to inspire you and you can go here to see many more!!

How to Style a Coffee Table

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I change up my coffee table and console table styling very often. It is such a fun thing to do and makes the room feel fresh and new. Here are a few ideas to help you with your own styling:

1. Use a pot of flowers layered into the styling. I like to keep flowers either very high or very low. The height of the flowers depends on the height of the other elements in your styling.

2. Use a tray to hold your styling together. I like to layer with a tray on part of the table and then layer outside it as well if you have space.

3. Layer with books. I like to have a stack of decorating or art books on the tray beside the flowers and then layer another piece on the top book.

4. Use a small dish as the top layering piece. I take one my lookslikewhite dishes and fill it with shells, marble eggs, small stones or any other natural element.

5. There are so many other elements to use in table styling like plants, statues, artprints, antlers, candles and so much more. Use items that have meaning to you and that make you happy to feature them where you can see them everyday!

Chic All-in-One Bathroom

You know the dream we all have of taking a rather large room in your house and turning it into the ultimate bathroom? Well this is what I imagine it could look like....subway tiles on all the walls, amazing black and white tiles on the floor. Love the shower space that looks like a rather large closet and of course there is the reading, library, shelving space in the corner. Certainly not traditional in any way, this is a wonderful makeover that has everything you could need. My only question would be.... why only one sink?

Small Space Style

This  tiny space is soooo cute and really perfectly decorated for the size. They have used some small size pieces like the couch and coffee table mixed with some oversize pieces for impact...like the large light in the living room. I like the way they have used the dresser at the end of the bed, almost like a footboard...a great way to add a dresser when there is no space.

Have a great weekend!
