A Beautiful Home in a Renovated Church

This fabulous home is really a renovated church built in 1880. So well done with an amazing dining room in the porch and a gorgeous bath in the closet....so fun. Industrial lamps in black in the kitchen and dining area follow into the living room which is all done in warm neutral fabrics. Yesterday's post was all about adding a pop of colour and here it is again in the dining room with this bright neon pink chair! Doesn't it look great!!

Inspiration in White: Pop of Colour

This is such a great way to change up an all white room. Adding a pop of colour with some kind of accessory...a pillow, a rug or even a flamingo (??) really changes up the look of a room. What is so great about adding colour to white is how you can change up the look so easily. Add a bright pink cushion and when you have had enough just change it out for another bright or keep the room looking cool and modern with an all neutral look.

Aren't these amazing rooms! Have a great week!

Great.ly Shops

I was perusing one of my favourite blogs and came across a post about a new on-line marketplace called Great.ly that brings Tastemakers (wonderful bloggers with fabulous taste) and Makers (creative artists such as myself) together. The Makers share their products and the Tastemakers put the goods in their shops. I loved the idea of being part of this community and joined in as a Maker. There are Tastemakers and Makers from around the world and there is an amazing variety of handpicked goods to choose from such as home decor, fun ideas for gifts, cute toys for kids and so much more.

Many of the pieces from my shop are exclusive to Great.ly so be sure to check them out. I am very proud to say I have a couple of items in the Great.ly shop of Holly Becker from Decor 8!! One of my favourite bloggers of all time! One of my bowls was featured on Holly's blog last week which was such a thrill for me. Thanks Holly! My hearts were featured on the blog of Liz and Jewels which is an amazing food blog. They actually do great food posts on Decor 8 called Food in Motion. Be sure to check out their Great.ly shop

Farmhouse Style Loft

This is the home of boutique owner Anna Hillegass featured in Country Living Magazine. She owns this super cute store in Minneapolis called The Foundry Homegoods and her loft is just above her store. She loves to decorate her store and her home with great salvaged style.."I love older things that people have used and cherished," says Anna. "They have personality, character, and soul." I could not agree more.

Her father had bought this old foundry 30 years ago and used it for his own business. Once the neighborhood become hip and trendy she decided to open her own store and have her loft in the space. I love to hear stories like that....being able to live and work in a gorgeous space that you once played in as a child. Very cool..

Natural Home

This house in Sonoma has the most wonderful natural elements....stone fireplace, wood walls and vintage wood furniture. Super modern with tall windows and and a superb open kitchen all in greys, taupe and white. The best part is the amazing covered table outdoors with the big stone fireplace that repeats the same stone as the one in the living room. Also love the mirrored shelves in the bathroom giving the room reflection and space...beautiful!

Inspiration in White: Memorable Gallery Walls

We have all seen, and probably have one in our homes, pretty gallery walls. There are so many ways to make a gallery wall and there are some interesting ideas on Pinterest of how to install them and what shape they should take....but to do this in a modern way you really need to take a new approach.

I think the most memorable ones I see these days are a mix of frames, mirrors and unique items that create a story. What I love about some of these ideas is that the furniture or accessories that are below or around the gallery wall are integrated into the overall story. You can go very far with your wall if you take this approach and create something that has major impact in the room and shows off your style and personality as well. Here are some great ideas for you to try...

Bring on the Colour

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Well if you are going to do colour in your home this is certainly the way I would do it! White, white and more white with a mix of many bright colours. Of course it is really the most perfect in the kids room....feels girly and fun. I think the bright rag rugs in the kitchen pull all of the colour together and give make the room feel casual and homey and the splash of black in white in the living room plays well with the colour. A pretty home for sure...

Black, White and Pastel

Love this look with the sharp contrast of black and white with the softness of pastel. Just a touch of pink or grey added into a black and white space or even when dressing up and outfit can change the whole look.  Don't you love these pastel dishes with the black bowls in the collection...really I just need to try this with a few pieces of my own ceramics collection.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!

California Modern

Subtle colours in grey blue, white and stunning neutrals fill this Southern California home. So many wonderful details such as the shelving beside the fireplace with grey ceramic vases in artful repetition. High open beamed ceiling in the entryway makes a grand statement and natural textures and materials keep it from feeling cold. This modern has such a great feeling throughout the interior and the exterior with incredible gardens and views.

Bright By the Sea

I came across this gorgeous home on Dustjacket Attic today and fell in love! So bright and beautiful with white and touches of seaside blue, so irresistible and so fresh!! This house has been designed by Veranda House Interiors and they did an amazing job.

I really like the blue and white striped slip covers on the chairs (you could get this look with the Ikea stools that are very similar). The side board you can see in the kitchen picture is so well styled. Two big clear lamps with the two frames look so perfect and repeat the feeling you see in the kitchen area..... well really the interior of the house is a perfect reflection of the incredible view outdoors to the sea.
