Jo Malone Offices

Lonny Magazine has another great issue out this month and one of the features I love is showing the offices of Jo Malone. I have been wearing a variety of Jo Malone perfumes for many years and I really appreciate the packaging, the look and feel of the bottles and of course the scent of the perfume. My favourite is Pomegranate Noir and when I wear it someone always mentions how much they like it...

When I saw the offices for Jo Malone it was exactly what I would have expected from the brand. Situated in an 18th-century Georgian townhouse in London's West End it reminds me of one of the stores which looks like the Jo malone packaging.....pretty, feminine and elegant!

Inspiration In White: Zinc

The look of any zinc pot, frame, mirror...well anything really.. feels instantly French. Such a warm and beautiful metal it only looks better with age and patina. As I was researching zinc I realized how versatile this material can be and I especially like seeing it used on counter tops in the kitchen. Very stain resistant and easy to clean it can add so much to the look but it is also a rather soft material and can be prone to scratching so something to think about before installing. (Do any of you have zinc counters? I would love to know if you like them!)

My favourite use of zinc though is in pots and finials. Although zinc is generally fairly resistant to rusting, if left outdoors for long, it does begin to change in colour which I think just adds to the character and beauty of the piece. I often see zinc items for sale at Dreamy Whites and Atelier de Campagne so go over to their sites to take a look!

Interiors with Ikea Live

I think we have all had a little Ikea in our home at one time or another. I still have Ikea white couches in my family room downstairs and have painted and repainted an old Ikea dining room table (that I cut down to make a coffee table) over and over again. I really appreciate the simplicity of the designs and often go to look at the site Ikea Family Live to see the new ways people are incorporating Ikea into their homes. 

Below Monica has used Ikea throughout her home in Tucca Italy, to create a beautiful, easy space for herself and her two daughters. Using white allows her to mix different styles and materials and yet still maintain a unified space. She feels that white is neutral, light and stress free as well as being very practical and I could not agree more! Take a look at her pretty home here..

Interiors: Blue and White

This cottage in Sweden has done white so well with a touch of blue running through every room in the house. I also have some blue in my living room and though it is just in a few small pieces it adds a light touch of colour that I like. I have with a painting with blue in it, a vase with a blue pattern and two bowls but you could use it in cushions, a carpet or a small blue wall. What colour do you use to add to your white rooms?

This lovely apartment in Sweden is full of collections, antiques, vintage finds and lots of humour! I really love the stork that you can see in the living room. Take a look at the collection of teapots above the armoires and in the glass case are the collections of sponge pottery and small animals...

Farmhouse Style

This farmhouse located in upstate New York was first featured on Decor 8 (love Holly's blog. Just bought her book) for Rue Magazine. The photographer Emily Gilbert (first of all she is amazing) really captured the spirit of the family that lives here...of course this type of home is really the kind that I love.. vintage collections (the zinc watering cans are great) and a mix of various styles that together create a wonderful and comfortable space.

Interiors: California Cottage

This is the home of actors Corbin Bernsen and Amanda Pays. A super comfortable and eclectic home that the couple, along with their four boys, have decorated themselves. Vintage flea market finds mix with new items from Pottery Barn and West Elm.

I really love the kitchen with the reclaimed barn wood cupboards and the metal school chairs. The concrete counters look fantastic as do the lights and backsplash tiles from Morocco.

Great hits of colour throughout the home make it a really cozy space..

Beach House- Lonny Magazine

I was looking at some back issues of Lonny Magazine and came across this fantastic beach house in Malibu. First of all, I love California! Yes I would go to LA anytime. I have always had great trips there for work and for fun. Second, to live in Malibu on the water would be rather nice don't you think....? This beach house of designer Tobi Tobin really appeals to me not only because it is all white but it is such a great mix of old and new items that make this home very personal. Fresh Florals

I really cannot wait until spring.....is it warm where you live? Here in Montreal it is still cold and snowing (I am soooo tired of wearing boots) and all I seem to be looking at is florals in clothing and decor to get me out of the winter blues. There are many pretty florals in decor right now from fabrics to wallpaper and carpets and of coursejust putting out fresh flowers makes any room feel brighter. Interiors: White in Italy

Beautiful home in Milan with amazing skylights and floor to ceiling windows that reflect white washed wood ceilings and floors. The beautiful doors in the living area lead to a large terrace outside that is really a wonderful place for family or entertaining. Things I am loving: Shots of colour in the Smeg  fridge and bright books and the tulip table and chairs in the dining room. Also loving the sink on the wooden shelf in the bathroom! Isn't that perfect for a smaller space...
