Inspiration in White - Cozy Spaces

It is so cold here in Montreal right now and we have two feet of snow in the front yard! I am sitting at my computer in a big cashmere sweater with my housecoat overtop trying to stay warm (yes we have a well heated home but there seems to be drafts everywhere!) All I can think about is getting into a cozy spot by the fire or under a blanket so I thought I would share with you a few cozy spaces that I like..

Eclectic Apartment Decor

The apartment of this young couple is exactly as it should be...young, fun and eclectic! Solid base pieces like the tufted couch are perfect to work off of (and are a good investment)...just add the creativity! Love all the Morrocan touches and the red floor in the bedroom and kitchen is fantastic played off the white walls !

Interior: Modern Neutrals

This wonderful apartment is all done in great neutral shades, white, black, taupe and grey but it is anything but boring! Modern design with a less is more attitude, makes each piece of furniture selected feel absolutely right in its place in this home. I am so loving the dining room table with the outstanding pendant lamp and those amazing Eames style chairs! The other trend I really think is great is the pendant lamp beside the bed. It adds such an interesting look to the bedroom and gets away from having the lamps on the side-table. Beautiful..

White and Colourful Vintage

I don't normally put homes with a lot of colour in them on my blog but I find this lovely house very inspiring. The white exterior and the all white interior with the colourful vintage furnishings is so pretty and feminine I had to share! I love the use of the pink and turquiose together and the mix of vintage fabrics all with different florals or patterns.

The renovated exterior of this home is so amazing with the balconies all around the house and with those amazing dormer windows. You can see the way the dormers are used in some of the other photos. A big couch sits inside one of them and the big white bed sits in the other making great use of the architecture of the home. You can see there has been a lot of care put into the upkeep and renovation of this home while still keeping its original character and charm.

Simple and chic white on white decorating in this home in England. All of my favorite elements including pops of colour with a mix of vintage, barn and Swedish style. Take a look at the child like art throughout the home that adds a really whimsical element and a touch of humour to each room. When I see a home like this I remember the importance of layering different white and cream colours into the space to ensure you have depth and don't forget about different textures as well.
