Cottage Renovation

This 150 year old cottage in Georgia, located on the river, has been completely renovated to showcase some of its original features. The ceilings throughout the home were opened up to reveal rustic beams and French doors open the home up to bring in the outdoors. The home is rather traditional in style but still has some inventive and unusual touches that keep it fun and interesting as well as a little bit rustic. All the rooms are done up in white, neutral and golden tones to keep the flow throughout the home.  I really love the brick covered patio area which would be perfect for warm summer evenings!

Sophisticated Apartment in Sweden

This incredible space was a grand home that was turned into an office building and has now been turned back into these incredible apartments. The building is so beautiful and this apartment is really so sophisticated, just....STUNNING! The finishes are in marble and porcelain, white oak floors and a custom designed kitchen...oh yes this is a real beauty. Take a look at the view from the apartment window and the terrace is....well ....really, what more can I say. I would live here in a second! Super Design with Ikea

I have featured homes from Ikea Family Live several times (take a look at this post and this one) and here is another that I think is really well done. Ikea is so simple to put together and you can be very creative with all of their pieces. If there is any white furniture that is kid friendly it would be Ikea white couches! They wash up super well and when the slipcover starts to look worn you can get a replacement rather inexpensively. I am really loving these dining room chairs and the couches can look so modern and high end! The picture wall has a clever pattern...a little different.. and what about the book shelf wallpaper in the office...well done!

Seaside Cottage

The Swedish nautical theme starts at the front door in this pretty seaside cottage, with a beautiful pale teal hat stand. The house, though mostly white, continues with shades of blue throughout the home creating a wonderful continuity. Shells, palms and driftwood add just the right touch to finalize the theme. The little desk at the bottom of the stairs is so sweet and all of the painted cabinets are just perfect in the space. The floor is a high gloss industrial paint adding a bit of shine to the surface and reflecting the blues in the cabinets and paintings. I love the look of a seaside cottage and this one is beautifully done. There are a couple more from previous posts HERE and HERE.

Bright and Light Decor

This little bright apartment has such a great feeling to it with all of the pretty prints on the wall and the fresh light decor. Lots of pretty pastels throughout add a real warmth to the space. The kids rooms are adorable and feel just right for little ones. I am keeping my eye out for great kids rooms these days as one of my lovely clients is having a baby so I would like to have some ideas for the babies room. The little rag rugs throughout the apartment fit perfectly with the rest of the decor. A very sweet space for sure!

Gustavian Beauty

On yesterdays post I showed one small portion of this incredible house. I have posted this same picture before on Tumblr and on Facebook and I finally found the entire home. It is so hard to describe this house....it is so spectacular in so many ways...kinda over the top....but if you look at each piece individually you see the most beautiful furniture, architecture and detail. I am in awe of all of these incredible pieces in one room...tooooo much! There is not one Mora clock but four...not one Gustavian mirror with gold trim but several. Each bench chair and table has wonderful detail...and then there is the ceiling....whew I am out of breath..Enjoy!!

Inspiration in White: Daybeds

There is something so wonderful about daybeds because as it is an invitation to nap and I love to take naps! A cozy place to curl up with a book or to have a quick snooze with some lovely pillows and a little blanket could not be more perfect in a home. I really like the vintage daybeds in these photos but I also think that it looks good with a more modern twist as well. Daybeds make great replacements for couches as well and there are some good inexpensive options out there from Ikea and West Elm....or you could DYI one with pallets and mattresses. Really cute!

Sweet Swedish Apartment

This little open air apartment in Sweden is so pretty. The whole living space is really in one room with a small bedroom and bathroom, but it is really well done. Pretty black and white touches with a lovely  modern kitchen and bright big windows that really open up the space in a great way. Just perfect for a single or young couple!

Shabby Home Style

LOVE this shabby home....I mean what is there not to love here! That couch...superb....the kitchen... wonderfully modern vintage...the bedroom.. full of shabbyilicious accessories! I just wish there were more pictures. So cute the way the couch has a lovely lace cover, the chaise a delicate pink cover and the chair in a cotton hemp fabric. Gorgeous!
