Beauty in Madrid

This family in Madrid has incorporated their work life into their home space in such a beautiful way. Antiques are their business (Antiq-BR) and you can tell by the incredible furnishings throughout the home (yes most of these pieces are for sale by the looks of the website)! They also have a textile business that I have long admired called Ana and Cuca. Take a look at the incredible rough wood floors contrasting the wood of the antiques that almost looks as gold as the chandelier..so perfect. This is one of those homes that gives me a chill when I look at it..so many special details.The bedrooms are also so great, one dorm style, and the other looks like a fabulous master with one spot of greeen in the bedside lamp.

Vintage Summer Cottage

Pretty details in this summer cottage that I find really warm and inviting. Take this cottage and put it near any beach and it would fit right in. It reminds me of one of the cottages we stayed in during our summers in Ocean Park, Maine. Fresh with white paint and floors, lots of great vintage details like the lamps in the kitchen and easy rag rugs on the floor complete the relaxed summer feeling. I could see myself leaving sand from the beach trailing through this home! Lavender surrounding the porch and a wonderful outdoor shower just give this home the added touch!

Inspiration in White: Natural Home

So what is a natural home anyway? Well, for me it is a home with lots of natural elements and earth tones....a home of great comfort and ease. It is full of grey tones, whites and neutrals with natural stone and wood, linen and fur. There is something so easy in a home like this that you feel comfortable immediately. The furniture must be relaxed with slouchy white couches, low stools and cozy blankets. Linens and baskets, especially these basket lamps, add the finishing touches as do the cotton rugs on the floor. Really so easy and relaxed...love it.

Storybook Home

This house looks like it is straight from a storybook with the thatched roof and wonderful garden but it is actually a 200 year old home near the border of Denmark. Beautiful flowers surround this property and open windows bring the fantastic light into the interior spaces. So pretty and feminine with a real Gustavian style in the rooms that fits perfectly with the look of this home. The house is so lovely with accents of red and green throughout and of course there is a perfect Mora clock in the corner of the living room! The painted floor in grey and white is a wonderful added touch. What a dreamy home don't you think?

Whimsical Home

Gorgeous floors and ceilings make this home feel really special...wide planks on the floor in white and natural wood and white washed ceilings, I mean really what could be better. Well, how about a saddle hanging in the middle of the house of course! Lots of whimsy in this space and a real mix of elements with Lucite and wood mingling with vintage and leather. The home is really well styled and is owned by a well known Swedish design blogger. She and her husband did a full renovation on the house themselves and really personalized this wonderful space. For Inspiration in White today I am posting some of my favourite rooms that I have seen recently on Pinterest. (You can follow me on Pinterest HERE) I am always inspired going through photos on Pinterest. I find many new bloggers to follow this way and get ideas for rooms I am working on for clients and for myself. I am always amazed at what great ideas people have and what you can learn on Pinterest! There are so many subjects I put on my "Ideas" board that I think "I am going to use that later for sure". I may never use most of them but they inspire me anyway....

French Beauty

I am just loving this pretty house in France with all of the detailing on the walls and ceiling. Beautiful whites and neutral tones with warm woods and shots of black to anchor this gorgeous space. So cute with the clocks on the wall and the saying "Time is Suspended" below and so many other little accessories to look at throughout this home. For me though it is the dining room that I find the most beautiful with the industrial lamp in this sophisticated room......I so love to see when there is something that you think would be totally wrong together in a one room and yet it looks so right!  Looks so good! I have been in Old Quebec for the past few days and have been looking at the most wonderful architecture so this post feels just right!

Interiors: Lovely for Rent

 

I often look at homes on sites that are either selling properties or renting different homes for photography. There are so many creative beautiful homes on these sites and the spaces are often light filled with wide open rooms. I have seen some homes decorated in two or three different ways for different photo shoots and they look so original each time and the home takes on the feeling of the brand or product that is being shot in the home.

One of the sites I like is Light Locations. There are so many beautiful homes on this site and the decor is often simple and clean like this home below. What a perfect base to build on with lovely furnishings and of course there is the gorgeous architecture. Check that amazing mirror in the living room and the pale chevron floor in the kitchen..really beautiful! Here are One and Two more homes from Light Locations.

White Country Collections

This white country cottage is full of the most beautiful mini collections.  I really like the collection of ceramic eggs, a mini collection of dogs, buttons and magazines as well as a collection of seltzer bottles, ironstone ale glasses and pitchers. There are so many mini collections throughout this pretty house! The dining room has a gorgeous kerosene lamp and a pretty spindle chair and the kitchen is featuring the owners collection of enamel ware plates and cups. What about the umbrellas in that amazing stand! Really a lovely cottage with so many great ideas to start your own collection. Myself, I collect ceramics and mercury glass. What do you collect in your home?

Shabby Kitchen

This is such a great example of a shabby kitchen. So many pretty elements here... beautiful collection of plates with a gorgeous butcher block with drawers below and a really pretty lamp beside (love that lamp!). I like how one cupboard in the kitchen is green for a pop of colour and then carried through with some of the accessories.
