Dreamy Decor in the South of France

How could I not love this house? First of all it is situated in the town of Uzège in Saint-Quentin-la-Pottery. This just happens to be in the South of France and I love the south and I hope to spend most of my later years in any small village there. Secondly, this town is known for its many potters (thus the name) and I, if you are not aware, am a potter! ( I need to visit this village on my next trip!)

Of course there are other reasons to love this house mostly to do with the fantastic decor. The renovation of the home began with the new owners, a young couple with one small child at the time, hiring local workers to do the finishing. Unhappy with the quality of work they decided to dive in and do it themselves, becoming experts in plastering, decor and design. I think they did a great job and really like the use of stone throughout the home. I also find the lettering above the counter in the kitchen very sweet and gives it character and coziness. What do you like best in this home?

Enjoy!

Rustic Retreat

This gorgeous space is not a home but a luxury bootcamp called The Ranch! Thanks to Est Magazine, we get a sneak peek inside these wonderful, calm and peaceful rooms....which I think you would need after being out all day doing four or five hours of group hikes, daily yoga sessions and core and ab work.

A bit if luxury with a rustic feeling, I think this is a place I could actually enjoy a week of detox!

Enjoy!

Nordic Charm

This three room apartment in Taarbaek, north of Copenhagen, is all done up in pale tones of blue, white and grey. With the sea visible from every room, the home matches its surroundings perfectly. Still lifes are set up throughout, put together with treasures collected over time on travels and with gifts from friends. The simple white floors really appeal to me as do the open shelving in the living room and in the kitchen. A beautiful little haven in the heart of a fisherman's village!

Enjoy!

Soft Industrial

A few photos of this gorgeous space that I call soft industrial. It has great industrial elements but it is softened with chandeliers, flowers and smooth lines. The dining room table is simply perfect because it is not too wide and the wood is full of texture. A really lovely space!

Cabin Decor

I always dreamed of having a log cabin somewhere in the mountains of Quebec but that was not to be. My love of cabin decor however has lived on and this space really has the best of this design. Gorgeous and rustic with all of the modern touches necessary to make it comfortable. A big kitchen with a wonderful  adjacent family room. A gorgeous bathroom and a view outside that is sure to relax the mind and cure the soul!

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Stylish Stairways

I love the extra details you see in certain homes...you know all the forgotten areas that we don't bother to decorate but in certain homes the decor goes all the way... to the stairway! It is a really area of opportunity because it is usually near the entrance of the home, takes up a large amount of space and can look so cool without spending a lot of money! Just adding some paint or a cool runner can make such a difference in the look of the stairway and can complete add great impact. Take a look at a few that I found for you!

A really cool runner in bright colours adds fun to the all white entry.

Painted blue and cream runner looks so good for a little French look.

A bright orange runner on white but with the added orange stripe up the wall.

Another blue and white painted stair but with a wide stripe.

All white stairway is always good!

French numbers! Love it...

Pretty pale blue..

Numbers, numbers..

Enjoy!

Farmhouse Style

This farmhouse located in upstate New York was first featured on Decor 8 (love Holly's blog. Just bought her book) for Rue Magazine. The photographer Emily Gilbert (first of all she is amazing) really captured the spirit of the family that lives here...of course this type of home is really the kind that I love.. vintage collections (the zinc watering cans are great) and a mix of various styles that together create a wonderful and comfortable space.

White Beachy Cottage

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

This adorable cottage looks like it should be on the beach with trails of sand coming in on wet feet! White from floor to ceiling with touches of colour the house has a wonderful relaxed feeling. Things I am loving are the simple sheet thrown over the couch as a slip-cover, the gorgeous beamed ceiling and the pretty grouping of mirrors on one wall and antlers on the other! The kitchen is great with rough wood cupboard doors and open shelving over the counters. Really just perfect..

Enjoy!

Loving these: Cloches

My house is filled with different glass domes or cloche as we say in French and I really have a lot of fun with them. I put all sorts of things under them from shells to plants and old books and nests.

This one below is from the table in the shop this past month and I had filled it with vintage silver. I set the table with my ceramics as well.

Beautifully done with the ink and quill.

Pretty with some sheet music rolled inside..

This from Atelier de Campagne. Go visit their Facebook page for great ideas..

I am considering buying some for the shop with some pretty wood or mercury glass stands like these below. What do you think?....Isn't the jewellery gorgeous as well??

Enjoy!

This 19th century farmhouse is owned by the interior designer Darryl Carter. Not only did he design all of the interiors but many of the individual pieces of furniture and lamps as well. A wonderful clean space all dressed in neutrals with a mix of modern, antiques and rustic farmhouse pieces the flow of each room works beautifully!
