A Twist on Traditional

This gorgeous home has a very traditional style but is made new with modern and vintage furnishings. This is such a good example of mixing styles in the right way and creating a very warm and inviting space. I really love the pantry space near the stairs with a hit of red and the rough tiles and table. I also think the kitchen are is so well done alternating the modern counters with barn lights and table. A fabulous outdoor space is an added bonus for sure!

Enjoy!

Very sweet home in Australia! I just love the kitchen with the rustic feel, the vine and the gorgeous column. The winding staircase with the bustform on the landing is a wonderful added touch. The owners collection of bone rings and cuffs is beautifully displayed in a bowl. Nice styling and a lovely home.

Humour in the House

This is such a fun and cheeky home! So eclectic with fun pops of color and those little messages they have put around the house...a good reminder not to take life too seriously! You gotta love those lockers as well! So cute for an entry..

Raw and Refined

You may have seen a few of these photos from Daniella Witte's apartment on Pinterest or Tumblr but I myself had never seen the whole home until today. Daniella is a photographer and her keen eye is clearly evident here in her own space. An industrial style that manages to feel very refined by combining rough surfaces with cozy furs, black and grey with warm woods.

Modern Barn

When I am doing research for this blog I look at a lot of houses of all different types from modern to vintage style and from barn to loft. Sometimes I come across a place that is done so well for the style and this is one of those houses. An old barn converted into a home with all of the modern conveniences but with all of the charm kept intact. From the interior to the gardens and pool area outside it is the perfect modern barn style home decorated with simple furnishes that allow the architecture and finishings within the home to shine.

Sweet Apartment in Sweden

This is a lovely little apartment in Sweden where the space has been used in a really great way. The kitchen is bright and well planned with great concrete counter tops. The hallway is a pretty inviting space as is the bedroom. It does not take a lot of furniture or a big home to create a wonderful and peaceful place!

Paris Factory Loft

I had seen one of these pictures on Pinterest and found the rest of the photos very recently. I love when that happens and I get to see the whole home. What I like about this is the big letters in the kitchen area and the loose, eclectic decor. I can imagine a young couple or students living in a space like this. Check out the barn lamps above the kitchen counter!

Parisian Home of Paola Navone

I have featured a couple of homes of Paola Navone on my blog before (her home in Greece and an industrial home she designed) but I think her Paris apartment is my favourite of all of them. There is such a sense of whimsy and fun about this home. She always uses white as her base but she has added these wonderful shots of color throughout. Take a look...

The New Traditional

More traditional homes do not have to be stuffy and I think this home from Country Living is a great example of this. I would call it the new more modern traditional home with a bit of cottage thrown in to loosen it up.
