New Year, New Look + new inspirations

Well one of my resolutions for this year was to redo my website..... so here it is! What do you think? I started working on the new site last November and although there are still a few bugs, I must say I am pretty happy with the way it looks.

My goals for the blog this year are more videos, more how to's, and more collaborations with other bloggers. As a ceramic artist I resolved to try new designs in my work and collaborate with other artists on some interesting products. For my home it is to redo my upstairs bathroom and clean out every last closet in my house! I think these are all good and attainable goals don't you?

The biggest one for me though is to learn to step back from life and breath...to enjoy every day, without judging it ......it is after all a journey as they say.

Some talented women that are inspiring me for 2015...

Sunday Suppers is a communal cooking centre in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The website and Instagram of the very talented Karen Mordechai are not only visually inspiring but the beautiful suppers in the Sunday Suppers studios look like wonderful gatherings of food and community.

Line Kays blog that I featured a couple of weeks ago Vintagepiken is a huge source of inspiration. Her sense of style and her photos really speak to me. White, moody mixed with rustic styling…so lovely.

This year I discovered the work of Dietland Wolf, stylist, photographer and ceramic artist and am endlessly inspired by all of her work.. So creative in all that she does, her ceramics have the wonderful organic quality that I love but with a refined yet complex glazing technique that brings them to a whole other level.

Inspiration in White: Art Photos

Lately I have been seeing so many homes with great large scale photo art prints and I really love them. I have seen them in the most sophisticated homes and they look really amazing. My daughter is a photographer and she has a great print in her bedroom and I have one in my hallway done by my friend who is a well know fashion photographer. I have been trying to get some of my clients to work in a piece here and there...such a perfect modern look that works in every setting.

Architect and Photographer: Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen

Wonderful photos of this home in Elle Decor this month taken by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen who is an architect and photographer. Beautifully done and the interiors on the website of Norm Architects are really amazing. All in these white and pale tones similar to this house below. Oh, the clean lines and wonderful simplicity that is Scandinavian design....I even see a few Ikea touches here and there in some of the homes he has done. Things I love in this home....the concrete floors, copper details and the entry tile! Very talented...

Enjoy!

Italian Farmhouse

Oh yes I do love this look...feels just like Southern France with a view that is pure Italy. The lamps, the bed and oh that kitchen. Looks like a Le Cornue stove to me! Wonderful tile throughout the home that adds just the right amount of rustic, don't you think. This lovely home is the work of photographer Enrique Menossi. I just love his work. Go and take a look at his website to see his amazing interiors or check out another home here on this post..

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Lifestyle Photographer: Carolina Romare

Just loving these wonderful interiors shots from Carolina Romare. She is a lifestyle, interiors, food photographer from Malmo, Sweden. Her shots are light filled and with delicate styling and attention to detail.

She says “I like the raw simplicity in things I see. Often I find myself thinking about how all objects and environments have a story to tell. Like a deserted house somewhere in the countryside or a 17th century armchair for example, I bet it’s got lots of secrets from various dinner parties and owners. It’s the history and stories that makes things truly beautiful.”

You can see her work in many wonderful Swedish magazines such as Skonhem and Lantliv.

Enjoy!

Mix of Style in Spain

This gorgeous house, photographed by Enrique Menossi, has a really relaxed style. At first it felt French to me but after looking through the photos a few times there is a real mix and that is what I love to see! A little French, a little Gustavian, a bit of Moroccan style (what about that bath!)...but not to much of a Spanish style at all. I love the bedroom with the dainty bed...oh such a crush on that room....with the heavy curtains, the bed layered with covers and that high ceiling! I also really like the little boys room, that could easily be a little girls room.... So beautiful with the draping on the bed.

This home is such a good example of how versatile decorating in white really is! It applies to every style and elevates the elegance and beauty of every space!

Enjoy!
